Creating the Finished Pawtrait
Taking the photograph is only the beginning.
Once you've chosen your favourite portraits, each selected image receives a detailed final edit before it's ready to become your finished artwork.
This is where I pay attention to all the little things that you would probably never notice when looking at your dog in real life, but which can become surprisingly noticeable in a portrait you'll be living with for years.
A stray hair, a speck of dust on their coat, a crumb of dog treat, a mark on the background — all those tiny distractions are carefully considered and, where appropriate, removed.
I'll refine the background, colour, tone and detail while making sure your dog still looks completely natural. The aim isn't to make them look artificially perfect; it's to make sure that nothing unnecessary distracts you from their expression, character and personality.
Depending on the style of artwork you've chosen, the final image may receive further creative treatment to give it the distinctive Contemporary or Art finish.
It's a painstaking part of the Pawtraits process, but an important one.
After all, there's a big difference between creating a lovely photograph of your dog and creating beautiful artwork you'll want to live with for years to come.
The Art Edit
The Art Edit takes your chosen portrait beyond traditional photographic retouching and turns it into something truly individual.
Working with you, I can introduce creative treatments that transform an already beautiful and characterful portrait of your pet into a distinctive piece of artwork designed for your home.
This might involve changing or creating a background, adjusting colours to complement a particular room, combining several photographs into a single composition, or applying a more artistic treatment to the original image.
The possibilities depend on the portrait, the space where it will be displayed and, most importantly, what you would like to create.
Nothing is left to chance. We'll discuss the ideas together before any additional work begins, and you'll be able to see and approve the finished Art Edit before it is sent for printing.
Art Edit — £50 to £200 per image
The cost depends on the complexity of the work involved and will always be agreed with you before you place your order.

Prints are available as the highest quality Giclee prints.
Giclee Art Prints
All Framed orders are made with Giclee printing technology with the exception of the ultra modern Acrylic prints
Photos on fine art paper are particularly high-quality. It is suitable for Colour and Black and white images. The heavy weight paper soft gloss finish and depth of colour, tone and contrast are best protected in a quality frame.
Framing
Our framing is undertaken by the very best in the business and was voted best photo lab in the world in 2013, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023 & 2024.
A variety of frames and sizes are available. We can also discus special requirements if you don’t see what you are looking for.
Frames vary in style form the ultra modern acrylic mounts that are slime had have the print integrated to the ultra glossy acrylic glass for protection through to the more traditional Solid wood frames with exhibition quality card mounts.
All frames come ready to hang so all you have to do is enjoy.
