Welcome to Pawtraits by Andrew. Andrew is a Shropshire based photographer with a 40yr history behind him and he has worked internationally. Now you will find Andrew offers what is, arguably, the best contemporary pet photography available.
Every portrait session is individual to you and your pet. We take great pride in making this as pleasurable experience for all involved, especially your pet.
The session will start with care and patience to get your pet to relax.
Once ready I will try to get the photographs done as quickly as possible as the sitters can sometimes be a little impatient.
The images from the session are then given a basic edit which you can view. From this edit you can choose what you want to do next. Order prints, frame prints, the choice is yours. I can guide you through a choice of framing options to suit you, your home and lifestyle.
The chosen images then get a final edit. This is where I use my magic to make your loved one look the very best they can , retouching the Kardashians would be proud of!
Then the final images are sent off to be printed and framed in the frame of your choice and delivered to you within 10days.

The Session
Every pet is different, so every Pawtraits session is too.
I’ll give your pet time to become comfortable with me and the studio before we begin. There’s no expectation for them to be perfectly behaved or sit patiently on command — patience, a few favourite treats and a little gentle persuasion are usually all we need!
Please bring along some of their favourite treats and, if they have one, a favourite toy. These can be invaluable for getting their attention and helping me capture the expressions and personality you know so well.
Most portrait sessions last between 30 minutes and an hour. I work calmly but efficiently because experience has taught me that there comes a point when even the most enthusiastic model decides they’ve had enough.
Your Portrait Creation Session — £125
Your £125 Portrait Creation Session covers the photography and the time and expertise involved in creating your initial collection of portraits.
Following the session, I’ll carefully select and prepare the strongest images for you to view. We can then look at your favourites together and explore how you might like to enjoy them in your home — from individual prints to beautifully framed portraits and wall art.
There’s no need to decide what you want before your session. We’ll work through the options afterwards and find something that suits you, your home and your budget.

The Viewing & Choosing Your Portraits
After your Portrait Creation Session, I’ll carefully select and prepare the strongest images from the shoot to create your personal Pawtraits collection.
You’ll receive access to a private online gallery where you can enjoy your portraits in the comfort of your own home. You can share the gallery with friends and family too — although be warned, asking too many people for their favourites can sometimes make choosing even harder!
At this stage, each image will have received an initial edit so that you can concentrate on the most important things: the expression, pose and personality of your pet.
Once you’ve chosen your favourites, those portraits receive my full attention. This is where I carry out the detailed final retouching — tidying backgrounds, removing distractions, dealing with stray hairs and making all the subtle adjustments that turn the original photograph into a finished Pawtrait.
Choosing your artwork
You don't need to know what you want before your session.
Once you've had the opportunity to look through your portraits, I can help you decide how you'd like to enjoy them — whether that's a beautiful individual print, a framed portrait or a larger piece of wall art.
If you're considering framed artwork, I can also visit you at home so we can look at the space where your portrait might hang, consider the right size and proportions, and explore framing options that complement both the image and your home.
There’s no pressure to make a decision on the spot. The aim is to help you choose something you’ll genuinely love living with.
Once you've made your choices, I'll take care of the rest — from the final retouching through to professional printing and framing.

Pricing & Your Artwork
Your Portrait Creation Session is £125 and includes the time, care and expertise involved in creating your dog's beautiful collection of portraits.
After your session, you'll be invited to view your carefully prepared images and choose the artwork you'd love to enjoy in your home. There is no obligation to purchase artwork, and you're completely free to choose as much or as little as you'd like.
Whether you're looking for a beautiful gift, a favourite portrait for a shelf or a statement piece of framed wall art, I'll guide you through the options and help you choose something that suits both your home and your budget.
Prints begin at under £50, with larger framed portraits and bespoke wall art available in a range of sizes and finishes.
Most Pawtraits clients choose to invest between £300 and £800 in their finished artwork, although every order is entirely individual.
If you'd prefer to spread the cost of your artwork, Klarna payment options are also available.

The Editing
Each raw image shot during the Pawtrait session goes through at least three stages of editing and retouching before it is ready to be printed for you.
Everything is done to ensure your furry friend looks their best, even if some of the retouching is not apparent to you.
It’s one thing having a beautiful companion, it’s another thing living with beautiful wall art. During the final editing process, Contemporary or Art, we may touch on more than 100 points to remove dust on the coat, errant hairs, pieces of dog treat, etc. Things you would never see on your constantly moving pet, but you certainly come your attention as you live with the image for years to come.
The Contemporary Edit
With the contemporary Edit we take your chosen images and ‘beautify’ them. The best crop is made to the chosen format, errant hairs may be removed, evidence of those little treats magically disappear, and the back ground is cleaned up, but essentially the final image is that which was captured at the time of the original session.
The Art Edit
With the art Edit we take your chosen images and ‘beautify’ them. and then go a step further.
In agreement and discussion with you we add treatments that turn a beautiful and characterful image of your furry friend into a piece of art.
Background colours may be changed, multiple images merged into a single art work or a treatment given to the original image to lift it to another level. To a piece of wall art.
Prices for this edit will be discussed with you before you place your order. This can range from £50 to £200 per image edited, depending on what is required.
You will also receive updated edits to approve before the file is sent to our printers.

Printing
Our printing is undertaken by the very best in the business and is based in central Germany, a country renowned for its printing prowess. The lab was voted best photo lab in the world in 2013, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023 & 2024.
Prints are available as the highest quality Giclee prints.
Giclee Art Prints
All Framed orders are made with Giclee printing technology with the exception of the ultra modern Acrylic prints
Photos on fine art paper are particularly high-quality. It is suitable for Colour and Black and white images. The heavy weight paper soft gloss finish and depth of colour, tone and contrast are best protected in a quality frame.
Framing
Our framing is undertaken by the very best in the business and was voted best photo lab in the world in 2013, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023 & 2024.
A variety of frames and sizes are available. We can also discus special requirements if you don’t see what you are looking for.
Frames vary in style form the ultra modern acrylic mounts that are slime had have the print integrated to the ultra glossy acrylic glass for protection through to the more traditional Solid wood frames with exhibition quality card mounts.
All frames come ready to hang so all you have to do is enjoy.
